Pikkumies installs into your own seedbox account with one command and no root. On many accounts it is already there.

Is it already installed?

Connect over SSH and run pikkumies doctor. If it answers, skip the installer. New accounts with at least 1000 MiB of RAM get Pikkumies preinstalled; there the agent runtime builds at the account's daily update time, or the first time you run pikkumies, which starts the build and asks you to come back in a few minutes.

Install it

~/bin/install-pikkumies.sh

It installs Pikkumies in your account and adds two lines to your crontab: a daily update and a once-a-minute check for scheduled jobs. The agent runtime then builds in the background, which takes a few minutes. Check with pikkumies doctor when it is done.

What it needs

• An active service, so your account earns AI credits, and your AI key in ~/.virsilipasKey (many accounts have it already; pikkumies doctor tells you).
• About 2 GB of disk quota and about 65,000 files of file quota for the agent runtime. Your file quota is 500 files per GiB of disk quota, so plans under about 130 GiB do not have room.

When the install does not work

• "install-pikkumies.sh: No such file or directory": your server has not received the installer yet. Install from GitHub directly:

  git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/MagnaCapax/mcxPikkumies ~/.mcxPikkumies
  ~/.mcxPikkumies/pikkumies/bin/pikkumies install

• "pikkumies: command not found" right after installing: open a new SSH session, or run hash -r, so the shell finds the new command.
• The install refuses because of quota: your disk or file quota cannot hold the agent runtime. Pikkumies says so and does not leave a half-finished install. Free some space or files, or move to a larger plan.
• "The agent runtime is not ready yet": the build is still running. pikkumies doctor shows how far it is; try again in a few minutes.
