You talk to Pikkumies the way you talk to a colleague: ask, follow up, correct it, change the subject. It keeps the whole conversation in view.
Start a conversation
pikkumies
The first time, it asks what to call it and shows the terms of service and privacy policy; it starts once you accept them. Then type your question the way you would ask a colleague.
Ask one question from the shell
Put the question in quotes after the command:
pikkumies "how much of my disk quota am I using?"
On a terminal this opens a session with that question first. In a script or a pipe it prints one answer and exits.
Pick up where you left off
When a session ends, Pikkumies prints the command that resumes it. Run that command to continue the same conversation later.
Keep it running when SSH drops
pikkumies tmux
This opens Pikkumies inside a tmux session called pikkumies. If your connection drops, reconnect and run pikkumies tmux again to get back to it. pikkumies tmux 2 opens a second window. The tmux status line also shows your AI credits.
Tips
- Say what you want done, not just the topic: "find why Sonarr stopped importing" works better than "Sonarr".
- If it misreads something, tell it in the same conversation. It checks again and its answers name their sources, so you can check them too.
