No, Pulsed Media does not cap or shape your upload rate. In almost all cases you can use the full available bandwidth without any artificial throttling applied on our end.
How Bandwidth Works on Shared Plans
Pulsed Media operates its own datacenter infrastructure with its own hardware and autonomous system number (ASN). Servers connect to uplinks of 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps, or 20 Gbps depending on the tier. On shared seedbox plans, this uplink is shared among users on that server — your practical speed depends on how much of the shared uplink is in use at any given moment. There is no per-user cap artificially restricting you to a fraction of that bandwidth. During off-peak hours many users saturate the full uplink uncontested.
Post-Quota Speed
If your plan includes a traffic quota and you exhaust it, your connection speed drops to 100 Mbps for the remainder of the billing period. This resets when your quota refreshes. Your service stays fully functional; only the ceiling changes. For full details on how the traffic quota system works, see the traffic limit knowledgebase article.
Entry-Level Plan Exceptions
Some entry-level plans have defined speed limits noted in the service description. If you are on such a plan, the limit will be stated in the service details at the time of purchase. If your service description does not mention a speed restriction, there is none. When in doubt, check the service page for your specific plan or contact support.
Summary
- No upload cap or shaping on most plans
- Shared uplink — capacity is shared across users on the server, not capped per user
- Speed reduced to 100 Mbps after traffic quota is exhausted
- Some entry-level plans have defined speed limits — check service details
