When someone opens your referral link, our website stores a small cookie in their browser with your affiliate number in it. If they place an order within 90 days, the services in that order are linked to you, and you earn 10% of every paid invoice for those services from then on.
How the cookie behaves
- It lasts 90 days. A visitor can look around today and order next month, and the order still counts as yours.
- The most recent link wins. If your visitor later opens another affiliate's link, that cookie replaces yours.
- The link is made at checkout. The services in an order are attached to whichever affiliate number the cookie holds when the order is placed. After that the cookie no longer matters: every renewal of those services keeps earning you commission.
- It lives in one browser. If your visitor opens your link on their phone and orders on their laptop, or clears their cookies in between, the order cannot be traced back to you.
What does not count
- Orders from your own account. You cannot refer yourself, and the system will not link your own orders to you.
- Orders placed after the cookie has expired or been deleted.
- Services your referral orders later without your cookie in their browser. Only the services ordered while your cookie was there are linked to you.
Checking your referrals
The Affiliates page in your Client Area lists your referrals and your commission. Its click count only counts visits through your classic link, https://pulsedmedia.com/clients/aff.php?aff=YOURNUMBER. Links you build by adding ?aff=YOURNUMBER to another page on our website set the same cookie and track orders the same way, but they do not add to that click count.
