DNS Propagation

Despite tools we use to verify propagation of DNS showing us that update has propagated properly, it infact has not.

At least OpenDNS and Google DNS is showing correct records, and our nameservers are up & running, but some ISPs have opted to use old nameservers, which is causing issues as these old servers are unstable and at this moment down, pending Leaseweb repairing the hardware.

Some ISPs cache the nameserver entries for a long period of time, some inflict changes in near real time. The temporary solution is to use OpenDNS or Google public DNS. You may also try flushing your DNS cache but this is likely to make no effect.

We are getting reports of DNS issues, while at the sametime we cannot validate these issues ourselves really, until it is too late.

For future, we have arranged clustered DNS, fully redundant. This change should take effect by end of this week, as we are at the same time doing an domain transfer to get this DNS solution.
