New dedicated server additional options
One of the so far unanswered question is upgrades for the dedicated servers. Answer is yes and no.
We need to have the HW configuration as identical as possible, so that limits the upgrades and additional options.
For the 16G model you can upgrade to 1Gbps at 50-60€, which will likely require a reboot to another hardware node.
You can also upgrade storage, at this moment not sure can we expand the base storage, or does it need to be delivered as another virtual device. It's likely we can create a system where the existing file system can be expanded, but might result in some downtime as the data is migrated.
Additional storage upgrade likely prices are going to be:
1Tb: 12€
2Tb: 20€
4Tb: 30€
8Tb: 50€
At that pricing you could have 10T servers with as low as 75€ per month! Making it absolutely the cheapest high storage solution in the market. With the 16G it will make 16T at 105€ a month, or 1Gbps 16T at 155€ a month!
You can also migrate directly to better hardware at your will, say you got the 4G model and want to upgrade to 16G model, that will result in a reboot and at worst case a little bit of downtime as the storage is expanded. Of course depending upon do we have hardware nodes available at that point how fast the migration happens.
Initially we will have very limited quantities of servers available as we already have reseller requests for more than 300 servers.
