Passing a seedbox on just got easier for both of you, and from today it counts as your referral.
Since 3 October you can move a seedbox or storage box to another Pulsed Media account yourself with a transfer key. Today three things changed.
One link does the work. When you create a key, you see it in a dialog and we email you the same message: the key, a direct claim link and the steps. Send the link, and it opens the claim page with the key already filled in; a new owner without an account can sign up right there. The key sits after the # in that link, the part of an address a browser never sends in a request, so it stays out of web logs and page analytics. The link page also shows the Service ID and the key, so pasting them by hand still works.
A used key now says so. In one recent giveaway the box was claimed two minutes after its key was made, and the nine people who tried after that were told the key did not match. That message is built to tell a guesser nothing, and it told people who simply came late nothing too. A key that has already been used now answers: "This transfer key was already claimed."
The service counts as your referral. A service you pass on with a key now becomes your affiliate referral, the same as an order through your link: 10% account credit on its renewals under the usual programme rules, plus the referral part of the free bonus disk, for you and for the new owner. Every customer with a paid order is already in the programme. A service that already had a referrer keeps it. This applies to transfers from today on. These referrals stay out of the Eternal campaign's referral count, because the service was already with us.
How commission is paid: Affiliate Program. How referrals grow your bonus disk: Do my referrals increase my bonus disk? Everything about transfers: Can I move a service to another client?
Best Regards,
