We finally achieved bootable and usable system booted off iSCSI, and the base Debian 7 template is now done.
Initial production system testing on the SAN:
Core2Duo
Intel Gbit adapter
Single connection, Single Session
No jumbo frames
108M/s throughput on first attempt and 3200IOPS.
Comparison: WD Black using the same tests achieved only 160IOPS.
