Very initial results are in.

Storage server:

FX-6100 AMD CPU (6 core)
16G DDR3 ECC Kingston
4x3Tb Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM (Integrated SATA3 controller)
1xSamsung 840 PRO (Highpoint SATA3 RAID Controller)
Integrated 1Gbps network connection

Via 2xHome 1Gbe switches (cheap)
Using subspecification network cabling (poor condition)

Testing server:
Intel QX9770
8Gb DDR2
1Gbe integrated network
Background load level 10% CPU, 64% RAM, 3% network

Unrar performance: roughly 60M/s
I/O test operated with 50% of the time a background unrar going on the file server.

Despite adding up this many factors to negate performance and cause issues first results were promising:
4workers, 32kb 84% random, 85% read, 95% of workload + 256Kb 50% Read 50% Write 95% Sequential 5% of workload.
Which resembles 4xrTorrent instances + 4xUnrar instances, loads 95% rTorrent 5% unrarring.

1620IOPS (8 magnetic drives worth)
52.19M/s  (More than double the monthly average of 100Mbps servers)
Average response time: 8.9ms  (Less than to be expected from magnetic drives in real world)
Maximum response time: 337.5ms  (Most likely caused by the suboptimal network)

Runtime: 120 seconds, ramp up 10secs

More results to follow.
