rTorrent version update pending
We are now at final steps for testing of next rTorrent version to be used - we are choosing between official 0.8.9 and a few updates newer repository version with some bug fixes, trying to choose the most stable version.
8th of October, 2011 version had issues with autotools, while official release from 4 months earlier has these working, but there is important bug fixes between the two versions. You can see the change log at: http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/log/
Final decision will be done by end of week, and some Debian 6 specific updates will be done at the same patch. Servers with rTorrent 0.9.0 will be prioritized on patching, and it will be a rolling upgrade, few servers at a time only updated like usual.
We are starting to deprecate Debian 5 support and looking forward to targeting Debian 6 only. It's not big changes, just few paths, and couple extra steps during installation which most be done for Debian 6. We are targeting that by mid April Debian 6 is the primary distribution for PMSS.
