The fate of 100Mbps offerings currently
Our supplier didn't decide on just the 25% minimum price increase, but to get unmetered they actually increased the price by multiple times.
This means, to offer unlimited stock for 100Mbps unmetered servers and 2009+ we would need to raise prices by 3x or so, which makes no sense what-so-ever.
This was totally unexpected move from their behalf, and using their servers makes no sense anymore, after our vacant stock runs out.
We will keep this pricing we have as long as we can, offering as dedi has suffered i'll fate tho: We had to increase our price by ~100€, and it is unsure will we be able to get all types of 100mbps unmetered at all in to stock anymore (price unchanged until then).
So, 2009+ X2 has only a few small lots available and no more is going to come in the foreseaable future. 2009+ has about 120 slots available, and again, no more is coming into the foreseeable future.
2011 continues on Limited, but good availability, so move to 1GigE as our main offering is inevitable during the upcoming months.
After 2009+ stock has been sold out, along with 2009+ X2, we will increase price somewhat to make room for those who really want it. We are also migratings servers, doing consolidation, and trying 3rd party acquirements to see if we can get our hands on some more servers.
However, we expect currently fully sold out status by end of July even after all the consolidation, acquirement and migration attempts. After which it is possible that mainly only 2011 series and VPS is in good availability.
After we have exhausted all our options to get more stock, new orders will have increased pricing for 2009+ and 2009+ X2 first by approximately 20%. Old customers will get to keep their grandfathered pricing.
Update 21/05/2011 11:28GMT:
Slots are going far faster right now than expected, if this pace continues we will run out of stock in just 2 weeks, unless we find new servers to take into usage.
Update 21/05/2011 15:26GMT:
We have been forced to already increase pricing of medium & large, as we have to use also older server models now and these plans will not even break even with annual payments using them, esp. with upgrades.
