Continuation of 2009+

As technology evolves and networks are built, offerings evolve, but sometimes things also are ahead of their time.

This is the case for our current evolution of 2009+ services, which offer extreme amounts of traffic per euro. Unfortunately, that also means our provider is going to increase price for future servers by 25%, along with other price increases. This means that not only will 2009+ price dramatically increase when this happens, but also our 100Mbps unmetered servers.

We are trying to buffer this by acquiring vacant servers for future growth, but eventually we will run out of servers and are forced to increase our pricing as well to compensate for the difference. We will however try to make this an gradual change, and an opportunity to better balance the cost difference between different plans. This does make no difference for existing customers, as they get to keep their pricing but for new orders of the plans. The price of 100Mbps unmetered servers will raise by 10 to 20€ across the board. Prices of 2009+ seedboxes will likely increase 1 to 10€ across the board. So if you want to solidify & ensure lower rates for yourself, now is the time to order.

This also means we are considering a new line of services, targeted at the highest possible quality. Your feedback will be highly appreciated on this subject, so if you have something to weigh in, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The proposal is to use higher end servers with 16G Ram, and RAID10. This would make the service even more responsive than 2009+, but also introduce upstream bandwidth limits based on plan, starting from 10Mbps upstream to 100Mbps. Due to higher cost ranging from 4 users to 24 per server. This would mean approximately 1.25Tb to 7.5Tb traffic per user, on average. However, you would gain the ability to have faster archiving, and other data manipulation such as re-encoding your videos along with redundant storage, thus data losses due to failing hardware become really unlikely. With this kind of servers, we might even be able to add remote desktop included as part of the service package, fully fledged and fully featured. Pricing would be something like 9.95€ for 80Gb/~1.25Tb transfer, to 29.95€ for 500Gb/~7.5Tb transfer.

That would exchange some traffic for reliability, stability and general performance. Without redundant storage we could double up the quotas, however likely with slightly decreased overall performance vs. 2009+, with no increase in reliability or stability.

So, please give your feedback and what would you like to see.
