First you need to login to shell, using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chiark.greenend.org.uk\/~sgtatham\/putty\/download.html\" target=\"_blank\">Putty<\/a> or similar application and login using your credentials.<\/p>\n<h2>Configuring BTSync<\/h2>\n<p>First you need the sample config, execute:<br \/>\n<em>btsync &#45;-dump-sample-config &gt; sync.conf<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Create an password for BTSync web gui access with\u00a0<em>mkpasswd<\/em> utility, copy the hash to clipboard by highlight with left mouse button.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/pulsedmedia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/mkpasswd.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11\" src=\"https:\/\/pulsedmedia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/mkpasswd.png\" alt=\"mkpasswd\" width=\"265\" height=\"87\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then you need to edit the sync.conf via your favorite method, my favorite for a quick task like this is vim, but yours maybe opening it to <a href=\"http:\/\/notepad-plus-plus.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Notepad++<\/a> via <a href=\"http:\/\/winscp.net\/eng\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">WinSCP<\/a> or any other alternative. Execute:\u00a0<em>vim btsync.conf<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Edit the file as necessary, you can enter into Insert (typing) mode by pressing Insert, and comeback from it with\u00a0<em>ESC<\/em> button, then just type :wq to Write and Quit. Use\u00a0<em>DEL<\/em> button to remove text in front of\u00a0<em>cursor<\/em> and arrow keys to move around. The following screenshot shows highlighted the most importants bits to change, notice i changed the port from default 8888 to 18274 which i chose randomly.
